I've just completed working on the code for the first Beta release of GT v20.

Am now working on default configuration/archive/screens/documentation/etc and hope for a release very soon.

Changes in GT v20 Beta 1:

  • Code is nearly identical to GT v19, however FOSSIL support has been re-introduced to allow the use of Telnet servers that support FOSSIL.
  • All data files are the same.
  • It should still run on MS-DOS, OS/2, and any versions of Windows v19 currently runs on.
  • Telnet operation will require any 32-bit version of Windows.  64-bit is not supported because Microsoft didn't include NTVDM support.
  • GTZ will not be updated, so an external Z-Modem protocol will be needed.
  • Released as freeware. (GT will never be open source.)

Known Issues:
  • Arrow keys in the message editor and file list do not work in FOSSIL mode.
  • CB Mode not yet supported.
